The VoiceOver Family made the trip to our hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada) to teach our Intro to VoiceOver Masterclass! We’ve held classes in Vancouver and Saskatoon so far and hope to continue teaching to even more students in the coming year.
We flew in late Friday night to the Sheraton Hotel and were met bright and early Saturday morning by a room of eager students wanting to break into the world of voice acting!
What an amazing group of people! Radio DJs, actors, poets, high school students, musicians, athletes… What a wonderful mix! It was truly awesome to see so many people from different backgrounds have an interest in this industry!

We spent the day learning (and laughing!) all about getting into voiceover. Near the end everyone got a turn behind the mic to record their first commercials! We can’t wait to edit them and let them hear the amazing work they did.
Since all of our family is nearby, we got to catch up with siblings, grandparents, cousins, and hit up the waterslides! Beck and Trace were so happy to be surrounded with family, they actually didn’t want to leave!
Me however… considering we arrived on literally the coldest day of the year (-35 celsius!!!!) I was more than happy to head back to the west coast where it is currently much warmer!
We will be making a return visit soon for (eeep!) MommaVO’s third half-marathon!
Overall, despite the cold, the workshop was a success and we are so proud and excited to see how our voiceover students progress and grow their skills!
See you soon, Sk’toon!
